Job Overview:
The Engineer - Mining Industry will oversee occupational health and safety, ensuring compliance with engineering and statutory requirements. This role involves managing the use and maintenance of machinery, safeguarding assets, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations. The position also involves managing relationships with key customers, service delivery, commercial targets, and OHS&E compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety and Statutory Compliance:

Ensure that all machinery and assets comply with statutory engineering and safety requirements.

Take responsibility for implementing and maintaining relevant statutory duties regarding machinery, including compliance with maintenance, inspection, and testing.

Report and investigate incidents related to machinery usage in accordance with legal requirements.
Customer Relationship and Service Delivery:

Manage key customer relationships, ensuring service delivery is in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Effectively manage commercial and financial targets associated with service delivery.
Change and Continuous Improvement:
-
Drive change management processes and foster continuous improvement in engineering operations.
OHS & E Compliance:
-
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHS&E) standards in all engineering operations.
Maintenance and Repair Coordination:
-
Liaise with mechanical and electrical managers to coordinate reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance for machinery and systems.

Relationship Management: Strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and internal teams.

Technical Knowledge: Sound understanding of electrical, mechanical, electronic, communication, and fire detection systems, particularly in large multi-tenant buildings.
Qualifications:

Education: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.

Certifications: Government Certificate of Competency in Mines & Works.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience as an engineer, with a strong background in managing sub-contractors and SLAs.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Labour Relations Act (LRA) and Industrial Relations (IR) Management.
