Job Overview:
The Divisional IT Manager will oversee the IT operations for the division, manage IT staff, ensure compliance with Group IT policies, and align divisional IT strategy with business objectives. This role includes managing IT operations, finances, security, project management, and vendor relationships, while focusing on improving efficiency and service delivery within the division.
Key Responsibilities:
ICT Policy and Strategic Planning:

Enforce Group IT policies and procedures to align with divisional needs and strategic objectives.

Advise on IT’s role as a support function within divisional objectives, while staying updated on emerging technology trends.

Develop a divisional IT service management plan and ensure the performance is reported regularly.

Provide suitable IT systems and solutions to support business analysis and operations.
IT Financial Management:
-
Manage divisional IT budget and control expenditure, ensuring alignment with Group IT’s guidelines.

Oversee IT procurement, financial approvals, and ensure compliance with finance procedures.

Track budget performance and develop business cases for key projects.
IT Asset Management:

Oversee the inventory management, procurement, and vendor relationships for divisional IT assets in alignment with Group IT standards.
IT Security Management:

Support Group IT in enforcing security policies and protecting against data security threats.

Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including POPIA.
Business Continuity:

Ensure data back-up and restoration processes are in place and operational.
Operational Quality, Risk, and IT Governance:

Oversee quality, risk management, and IT governance in line with industry standards and regulations.

Enforce ITIL and COBIT frameworks to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Solution Development and Delivery:

Contribute to tenders and provide technical expertise to improve divisional software and systems.

Develop technology solutions and ensure they meet divisional needs.
Service Provider Management:

Manage relationships with service providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Project Management:

Plan, implement, and monitor divisional IT projects, managing costs and timelines.

Define system requirements and communicate project progress to stakeholders.

Coordinate with the Group IT PMO for project support.
IT Systems and Applications Support:

Ensure systems meet the divisional needs and provide adequate support for applications.

Lead the change management process for IT systems.
Business Requirements Gathering:

Facilitate the business requirements gathering process and collaborate with developers for system design and configuration.
Skills and Competencies:
-
Software Knowledge & Understanding: Strong knowledge of enterprise systems and Microsoft products (Office 365).

Business & Financial Processes: Knowledge of business processes, financial processes, and ERP systems.

IT Infrastructure & Networking: Experience with hardware, IoT, infrastructure, and networking.

Data & Cyber Security: Expertise in data protection, information security, and cyber security.

Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies like SAFE, DAD, Prince2, or PMBoK.

IT Governance & Compliance: Knowledge of ITIL, COBIT, and best practices in IT governance.

Systems Integration: Familiarity with various system integration formats.

People Management: Ability to lead and manage IT staff, contractors, and service partners.

Vendor & SLA Management: Experience with vendor management and ensuring service levels are met.
Qualifications:

Education: Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science.

Certifications: ITIL Accreditation; MCITP and Leadership/Management Development Programmes are advantageous.

Experience: At least 7 years of professional IT management experience, with proven expertise in managing IT teams and technology projects. Systems Analyst experience is a plus.
