We are seeking an experienced Cleaning Kitchen Manager to oversee the cleaning operations within our kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing cleaning protocols in a kitchen setting, preferably within a 4/5-star hotel. Key Responsibilities:

Operations and Service Delivery:

  • Ensure that work schedules and job cards are in place and tailored to the specific needs of the site.

  • Maintain consistently high service standards through regular inspections of all cleaning tasks.

  • Ensure all staff are dressed correctly and display a name badge, highlighting the importance of maintaining a professional company image.

  • Adhere to cleaning methodologies in line with company policies, quality programs, and legislation.

  • Conduct monthly spot checks on company assets, ensuring all equipment is maintained in good condition and serviced when required.

  • Perform daily checks and follow-ups to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.

  • Report maintenance and safety concerns to the manager on a day-to-day basis.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act requirements specific to the site.

  • Follow all company policies, quality programs, and legislation regarding health and safety standards.

  • Maintain hygiene and safety within the kitchen, ensuring the utmost high standards are upheld.

Communication:

  • Respond to management requests promptly and take necessary actions as required.

  • Keep line management informed of important issues regarding site operations.

General:

  • Foster high morale and motivation within the team through effective communication and leadership.

  • Assist with additional duties outside the core responsibilities when required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of cleaning principles and company policies.

  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.

  • Proactive approach with exceptional customer service skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

  • Flexible, with a "can do" attitude and willingness to take initiative.

Qualifications:

  • Matric/Grade 12 or relevant experience.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications in the hospitality industry are highly advantageous.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Cleaning Kitchen Manager in a 4/5-star hotel or similar hospitality environment.

  • Experience with QPRO compliance standards is essential.

  • In-depth knowledge of various kitchen chemicals for cleaning different workstations.

  • Hands-on experience with deep cleaning of kitchen equipment (ovens, ceilings, walls, extractors, etc.).

  • Familiarity with inventory management and proper garbage disposal procedures.

  • Proven experience with regular kitchen quality checks and inspections.

  • Strong background in managing cleaning staff and maintaining high hygiene standards.

  • HACCP training or similar qualifications are highly advantageous.
