Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development:

  • Prospect for potential new clients and convert these opportunities into increased business.

  • Cold call within your market or geographic area to maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities.

  • Cultivate relationships with new clients, leveraging your network to grow business opportunities.

  • Identify and approach decision-makers within potential client organizations.

  • Attend industry events, such as associations and conferences, to stay updated on market trends and network with potential clients.

Business Development Planning:

  • Present and consult with mid- and senior-level management on market trends, aiming to develop new services, products, and distribution channels.

  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will increase sales.

  • Utilize knowledge of competitors and the market to develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Management and Research:

  • Submit weekly progress reports, ensuring data accuracy.

  • Manage and maintain accurate data in the company’s CRM or other sales management systems.

  • Forecast sales targets and ensure the team meets these goals.

  • Collaborate with marketing staff to fulfill prerequisites, such as vendor prequalification and timely contract submissions.

  • Track activity on accounts, providing support to close deals and meet sales targets.

Client Retention:

  • Present new products and services to existing clients, enhancing and strengthening relationships.

  • Work with internal technical staff and other colleagues to address customer needs.

  • Organize and participate in internal and external client debriefs to assess satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

Team Leadership:

  • Ensure all team members represent the company in the best possible light.

  • Provide business development training and mentoring to team members and other internal staff.

  • Research and develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s people, capabilities, and goals, continually improving performance.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Proficient in marketing and sales strategies.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Deep understanding of marketing principles and negotiation tactics.

  • Motivated and driven by sales goals and achieving results.

  • Strong prospecting skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and challenges.

  • Excellent in sales planning and territory management.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.

  • Strong initiative and a positive attitude.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • At least 6 years of product development experience, including experience in a management or team lead role.

  • Familiarity with current industry technologies and products.

  • Proven experience in new business development and managing sales teams.
