About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Cleaning Manager to join our team in Cape Town. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of site operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service are maintained. If you have strong leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage resources efficiently, this is an excellent opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Management: Take full responsibility for the management of your assigned site, ensuring all services are delivered according to contract requirements and client expectations.

  • Client Relations: Proactively address client requests with urgency, ensuring client satisfaction and building strong relationships with key contacts to drive contract retention.

  • Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources to maximize cleaning output. Adhere to resource requirements as specified in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

  • Staffing & Training: Work with HR to manage a pool of trained relief staff to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. Schedule and conduct regular on-the-job training for staff to enhance performance.

  • Service Delivery: Conduct regular inspections to ensure consistently high service standards. Ensure that work schedules/job cards are in place for each position and relevant to the site.

  • Unit Closures: Oversee unit closures, ensuring that all processes related to staff, equipment, billing, and costs are attended to within the month of closure.

  • Asset Management: Perform monthly spot checks on high-value items to ensure equipment is maintained in good condition and serviced when required.

  • Quality Compliance: Ensure that cleaning methodologies are adhered to in line with company policies, quality programs, and legislation.

  • Company Image: Ensure staff are properly dressed and display a name badge. Emphasize the importance of upholding the company image at all times.

  • Use of Technology: Effectively utilize and update electronic applications/tools issued by the company for improved operations and communication.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain unit files and notice boards as outlined in the TCS Policy and Procedure file.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Client Relationship Management: Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships with excellent communication skills.

  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively and maintain high service standards.

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure service delivery meets company and client expectations.

  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and take proactive action.

  • Adaptability & Flexibility: Ability to work independently and under pressure, adjusting to changing demands and priorities.

  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring that all tasks and responsibilities are completed efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant Operations & People Management Experience in a cleaning or facilities management environment.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role at the middle management level.

  • Commercial Industry Experience is highly advantageous.

  • Experience in managing or overseeing large teams.

  • Strong understanding of cleaning principles, company policies, and procedures.

  • Ability to schedule staffing and assign cleaning tasks productively, ensuring output standards are achieved according to site-specific SLAs.

  • Industrial Relations Knowledge: Strong people management skills and understanding of industrial relations.
